Purpose/Goal:
To help those transitioning into retirement to explore their expectations, examine thoughts and beliefs of identity, consider their purpose, manage time and freedom and build community and connectedness with other women.

Frequency/Timing:
8 sessions (every other week beginning last week of August and finishing the first week of Dec.) - Monday nights 6:30-8pm

Leadership:
This group will be run by two counselors. Leigh Saulsbury M.A. and Meg Bunka M.A. NCC.

Retirement Group for Women

Session Topics:

Session One
August 25th
Defining Group needs/desires.
Discuss norms, consent, exploring fears/anxieties about the group and about retirement

Session Two
September 8th
Exploring expectations of retirement.

Session Three
September 22nd
Who am I in retirement?

Session Four
October 6th
What does time look like now and how to create healthy routines and manage time and freedom well.

Session Five
October 20th
Changing relationships and managing other people's expectations while building community outside of the workplace.

Session Six
November 3rd
Exploring where to give of yourself and any necessary boundaries.

Session Seven
November 17th
Maintaining health and youthfulness in retirement.

Session Eight
December 1st
Termination, Celebration and Closure

Cost:

$240 for 8 sessions or $30 due before each session (regardless of attendance) or discounted $225 if paid by check or cash prior to the first session.

Members/Screening:
Will accept six-eight group members all transitioning into retirement (can be nearing retirement or have retired within the previous year). Interested individuals should complete the form below, or call/email to see if this group might meet your needs.
